..We hold an annual
Driving Clinic or CDE (Combined Driving Event) Training Clinic in earlyJune
of each year with guest clinicians. Early registration is required. We
welcome auditors aswell as participants. Please contact
us for more information.
..In 2004, Fløtren
came to the Fjord Horse show in Libby, Montana for the first time. He
was awarded the blue ribbon in his halter class (Stallions 7 years and
older) in a competitive field which included three gold medallion stallions.
SSF Henrik (a yearling gelding by Fløtren out of Myklina N-99-2564)
was awarded the blue ribbon in his halter class at Libby, 2004.
..As of September,
2004, the Norwegian Fjord Horse stallion Fløtren
is standing at Fjelldalengård. We offer breeding services, both
live cover and AI.
..Don and Heather
Torgenrud established Fjelldalengård in 1990. Nestled in a beautiful
mountain valley, the farm lies north of Missoula, Montana, along the Jocko
River.
The farm has a well-equipped horse barn with stalls and turnouts for farm
horses and visiting mares, plus round pens, an arena and a one-mile driving
loop along the river.
..We are served by an experienced veterinary
hospital in Missoula, which has a board certified equine surgeon on staff
and offers 24-hour emergency service. We have used the same veterinarian
for over twenty-five years.
..We are also served by the stallion station
at TK Quarter Horses near the Missoula International Airport (www.tkhorses.com),
which provides experienced equine reproduction services, including the
collection and shipping of semen via FedEx or air.
..Fjelldalengård
is located North of Missoula and South of St. Ignatius, Montana, just
off the main highway from Missoula to Glacier National Park, and is about
a thirty minute drive from Missoula International Airport. Tourist attractions
nearby include Flathead Lake, the St. Ignatius Mission, the Bob Marshall
Wilderness Area and the National Bison Range. Traveling NFHR members are
welcome to contact us about stopping to rest their horses.
